Amber Revisited – How do you know it is real?

Hi Paula,

I just have a question, how do you know when it is is ‘natural Amber’?  Is there a way to tell?  And does it make it more rare/ expensive?

  1. another easy way to see if you have real Amber is to use a black light – if it is real Amber it will glow, plastic and glass will not – real Amber is expensive – I mean Amber that has not been enhanced – low grade amber can be heated, colored and have sun spangles, bugs added to it. I included a real good web site: ambhttp://www.ambericawest.com/index.html – enjoy – Kit
