What is the symbolism of this ring?

Hello Paula,
I recently bought a ring and I was wondering if you knew what its symbolism is. Here’s a picture since it is quite hard to explain. I hope you can see it alright!

rotated and croppedHi Katelyn,

The hair is done in maiden whorls.

The mouth is open like a storyteller.

The storyteller is often seated so the bottoms of the feet show as in your ring.

So perhaps this is supposed to be a storyteller ring.

  1. Yes, it is a stylized story teller ring. The kids she is telling her stories to make up the band of the ring. Commercially cast, unlikely to be Native made.
